NOC Monitoring Engineer

Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Monitoring & Incident ManagementÂ
- Monitor network infrastructure, systems, and applications using various monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix)Â
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers when necessaryÂ
- Respond to alerts and incidents in accordance with established SLAs and priority levels.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Document all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
Network OperationsÂ
- Maintain network availability and performance across enterprise infrastructureÂ
- Perform regular health checks on network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and load balancersÂ
- Monitor bandwidth utilization and capacity planning metricsÂ
- Execute network changes during scheduled maintenance windowsÂ
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation and diagrams
System AdministrationÂ
- Monitor server performance, disk space, and application availabilityÂ
- Perform basic system administration tasks on Windows and Linux serversÂ
- Monitor backup systems and ensure successful completion of scheduled backupsÂ
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution
Communication & ReportingÂ
- Provide timely status updates to stakeholders during incidentsÂ
- Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly performance reportsÂ
- Participate in shift handover meetings to ensure continuity of operationsÂ
- Maintain clear and professional communication with technical and non-technical personnelÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 1+ years network operations or NOC experienceÂ
- Incident management and escalation handlingÂ
- Experience coordinating with field technicians and dispatch operationsÂ
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and systemsÂ
- Experience working in a 24/7 operational environmentÂ
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesÂ
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamÂ
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbalÂ
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple prioritiesÂ
- Strong customer service orientationÂ
- Preferred:Â CCNA, CCNP, Ruckus Certified, Aruba Certified, Meraki Certified or other networking-related certifications (CompTIA Network+, CWNA, Fortinet NSE)Â
- Willing to work onsite
