About This Opportunity   

Join The University of Queensland’s Student Support and Wellbeing Services team in a pivotal leadership role, whereyou'll help shape a more inclusive,accessible and supportive student experience. Reporting to the Senior Manager,Access and Inclusion,you'll leadthemultidisciplinary teams delivering accessibility, welfare,diversity and inclusion services that empower students to fullyparticipate and succeed in university life.  

This is an opportunity tohelp shape accessibilityand welfarepractice at UQ and across the sector. Combining strategic leadership with service excellence,you'll influence how UQ supports students to overcome barriers to accessand participation, while leading initiatives that strengthen the University's commitment to equity,inclusion and wellbeing. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading and developing multidisciplinary teams delivering accessibility, welfare, disability,diversity and inclusion services to students.  

  • Driving strategic and operational initiatives that enhance student access,participation and success.  

  • Partnering with stakeholders across UQ to foster a coordinated, student-centred approach to service delivery.  

  • Leading service improvement, changemanagement and process redesign initiatives to strengthen support outcomes. 

  • Providing specialist advice on accessibility,welfare and inclusion matters, informed by legislative and policy requirements.  

  • Building a culture of wellbeing, psychosocial safety,accountability and continuous professional growth. 

 

About You    

You are an experienced and values-driven leader who is passionate about creatingequitable opportunities and improving outcomes for diverse communities. You bring a collaborative leadership style, strong stakeholder engagementskills and the ability to navigatedynamic environments whilemaintaining a clear focus on people, servicequality and impact.  

You willdemonstrate: 

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams delivering client-centred health,welfare or support services. 

  • Experience implementing disability-related legislation and standards into organisational policy, process and service delivery, gained in tertiary,education,government, health, communityservices or another relevantsector. 

  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across large and dynamic organisations.  

  • Experience leading projects, serviceimprovements and organisational change initiatives.  

  • Strategic thinking, soundjudgement and the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams.  

  • A commitment to accessibility, inclusion, student wellbeing and fostering positive outcomes for diverse communities.  

  

This role includes the opportunity and expectation to travel to UQ campuses at Dutton Park, Gatton and Herston while beingpredominantly based at St Lucia.
