Shift Requirement: Rotating shifts, overtime, weekends & public holidays
Role Overview
We are hiring Tool and Die Shop Technicians to support critical shopfloor operations involving the repair, maintenance, and modification of high-temperature dies used in rig operations.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring multi-skilled capabilities across machining, tooling repair, and precision inspection within a high-performance engineering environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Performrepair, refurbishment, and modification of high-temperature dies using appropriate tooling and techniques
- Operate and maintain a range of equipment, including:
- Manual polishing tools
- Welding equipment
- 5-axis CNC machines
- Wire-cut machines (EDM)
- Lathes and drilling machines
- Hydraulic and pneumatic tooling
- Usehand tools, gauges, fixtures, and precision instruments to support die shop operations
- Conductgeometric inspection and measurement analysis using high-precision inspection equipment
- Interpret and execute tasks based on:
- Technical drawings
- Written and illustrated technique sheets
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality documentation
- Supportcontinuous improvement initiatives, including process optimisation and problem-solving on the shopfloor
- Maintain strict adherence to:
- Quality standards and procedures
- 5S and housekeeping practices
- Health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Supportad-hoc shopfloor activities related to tooling, repair, and production needs
Qualifications & Experience
- NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or related field
- Minimum2β5 years of experience in tool and die, machining, or precision engineering environment
- Hands-on experience in at least2β3 of the following areas is required:
- CNC machining (preferably 5-axis)
- Wire cutting (EDM)
- Lathe or milling operations
- Welding (tooling/die repair context)
- Manual polishing and finishing
- Experience working withhigh-temperature or hardened materials is advantageous
- Familiarity withgeometric measurement / inspection equipment (e.g., CMM) preferred
- Ability to read and interpretengineering drawings and tolerances
