We are currently seeking for an experiencedSolution / Enterprise Architect to strengthen its Public Sector practice in Belgium. You will act as atrusted advisor to key government organisations such as FOD BOSA, Digitaal Vlaanderen, and SPW Digital. Your role bridgesbusiness strategy and technical execution, ensuring the design and governance of scalable, secure, and future-proof architectures.
Key responsibilities
Sales & Account Development
- Identify anddevelop opportunities within public sector clients
- Contribute to and lead presales and proposal development
- Build strong stakeholder networks across client organisations
- Support public tenders, framework agreements, and bid reviews
- Drive scope extensions and revenue growth
Architecture Design & Governance
- Design enterprise and solution architectures for complex programmes
- Define blueprints using TOGAF, ArchiMate, and OSLO standards
- Lead architecture boards and ensure compliance (security, scalability, interoperability)
- Advise on cloud strategies (Azure preferred, AWS, GCP) aligned with G-Cloud
- Embed NIS2, GDPR, ISO 27001 requirements in all designs
Client Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act aslead architecture advisor at management level
- Translate technical concepts into clear executive communication
- Lead governance bodies (steering committees, architecture boards)
- Influence strategic decisions and promote best practices
- Contribute to thought leadership and market visibility
Delivery & Quality
- Ensurehigh-quality, on-time delivery of architecture artefacts
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure implementation alignment
- Identify and mitigate architectural risks
- Apply company methodologies and quality standards
Ā Knowledge & Team Development
- Contribute to the architecturecommunity of practice
- Develop reusable frameworks and accelerators
- Mentor junior consultants and architects
- Support recruitment and team development
Experience & Skills
- 8+ years in IT architecture (ā„4 years in Belgian public sector)
- Public Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with key institutions and frameworks
- Frameworks: Strong expertise in TOGAF (ADM), ArchiMate
- Integration: APIs, microservices, integration platforms (e.g. MuleSoft, Kong)
- Cloud: Azure (preferred), Kubernetes, DevSecOps
- Presales: Proven experience in RFPs/tenders with successful outcomes
- Dutch and/or French + English (bilingual is a plus)
- Strong client focus and advisory mindset
- Ability to simplify complex topics for senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, influence, and leadership skills
- Structured, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Curious and proactive about innovation and eGovernment trends
