The Opportunity

On behalf of one of our key clients based in Brussels, we are looking for dedicatedPrivacy & Compliance Consultants to join their security and governance team on a freelance basis. We are currently recruiting for multiple roles across all seniority levels (Junior, Medior, and Senior).

In this role, you will play a central part in assessing, implementing, and maintaining robust security, privacy, and compliance frameworks. You will bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and operational IT security, helping our client build a highly resilient digital ecosystem.

Your Responsibilities

• Framework Compliance: Ensure alignment with international standards and security frameworks (ISO 27001, ISO 27005, NIST, and CIS controls).

• Privacy & GDPR: Implement and monitor data protection practices to ensure full compliance with GDPR regulations.

• Risk & Security Audits: Conduct comprehensive security and risk audits, analyze vulnerabilities, and deliver detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations.

• Security Assessments: Collaborate on cybersecurity risk management and oversee or coordinate ethical hacking initiatives (penetration testing).

• Awareness Campaigns: Design, organize, and facilitate security awareness programs to foster a security-first culture within the organization.

• Stakeholder Advisory: Provide expert guidance on compliance issues to both business and technical teams (responsibilities and leadership scope adapted to seniority).

Your Profile

• Experience: Open toJunior (1+ year),Medior (3+ years), andSenior (10+ years) profiles.

• Key Technical Competencies:

  • Strong theoretical or practical understanding ofISO 27001, ISO 27005, NIST, andCIS standards.

  • Solid grounding inGDPR regulations and privacy-by-design concepts.

  • Hands-on experience in executing compliance audits, conducting risk analyses, and writing detailed audit reports.

  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and cybersecurity defenses (knowledge of ethical hacking / pentesting techniques is highly valued).

  • Excellent communication skills for leading awareness sessions and delivering reports.

• Languages: Dual language proficiency is mandatory: fluent inEnglish (3/4) paired with professional working proficiency in eitherFrench orDutch (3/4).
