OurPrivate Equity Portfolio Company practice serves both partnership and corporate companies, the majority of which are owned by Private Equity Funds.  Thisparticular role offers the opportunity tojoin the Partnership Tax team, a high-performing, high-growth team that advises clients on their tax strategy and compliance obligations using both industry and technicalexpertise with our cross-functional teams, especially our Financial Services team.  Our professionalshelp guide their clients through M&A transactions and capital account analysis, all while deliveringdigitally enabled services in conjunction with our world-class tax technology offerings.

As aTax SupervisorwithRSM, you willberesponsible for the following job duties which arefocused around two core concepts: your technical & qualityexpertise and delivering excellent client service.Â

ResponsibilitiesÂ
Provide detail review and analysis of tax returnsÂ
Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner tofacilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firmÂ
Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, concerns, etc.Â
May have people leadership responsibilitiesÂ
Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members.Â
Performing, documenting, summarizing, and reviewing research conclusionsregarding specific tax issuesÂ
Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax lawÂ
Review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standardÂ
Assist to manage engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing

Minimum QualificationsÂ
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited universityÂ
Will have completed all educational requirements for CPA licensure eligibility in the state in whichyou'llreside or completed all requirements to sit for the Bar exam, by start dateÂ
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in public accounting with emphasis on taxationÂ
Experience preparing and reviewing returns with one or more of the following: S Corporation or PartnershipsÂ
Strong computer skills, includingproficiency in Microsoft ExcelÂ
Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines andin accordance with firm and client standardsÂ
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written meansÂ
Effective project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, andmaintain accuracy and quality of work in a fast paced, client service environmentÂ
Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and, as required by the role, at client sites, including the ability to sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer and other standard office equipmentÂ
Ability tomaintain consistent, onsite presence during core business hours including the ability to regularly report to a firm office location and travel to client sites asrequired, including access to reliable transportationÂ
Ability to work extended and/ornon standard hours during peak periods or as necessary to meet client, project, or firm business needs

Preferred QualificationsÂ
An active accreditation obtained, in process or willing and able to obtain one of the following: CPA, EA, or attorney licenseÂ
Advanced degree (Master’s in Accounting, Taxation, or MBA)Â
Experience with large or national accounting firmsÂ
Working knowledge of tax code and complianceÂ
Familiarity with tax preparation and review processesÂ
Focus on M&A, ASC 740, multi-stateconsolidated C corporations, and advanced tax technology toolsÂ
Deep partnership taxationexpertise, capital account analysis, and complex provisions (704(c), 754)

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $82,400 - $155,700Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
