Fabricator/Finishing Operator

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled, hands-onFabrication and Finishing Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of fabrication and finishing equipment to produce high-quality, food-grade stainless steel parts.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in a manufacturing environment, and takes pride in producing quality work while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

What You'll Do

On a typical day, you may:

• Set up and operate conventional fabrication and finishing equipment, including:

  • Glass bead blasting equipment

  • Hydraulic presses

  • Drill presses

  • Stroking machines

  • CNC press brakes

• Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, hand drills, and grinders to perform blasting, grinding, deburring, blending, and polishing.

• Inspect parts throughout the manufacturing process using measuring tools, prints, templates, charts, and other quality inspection procedures.

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, templates, and work instructions.

• Measure and verify dimensions using tools such as tape measures, scales, micrometers, and templates.

• Maintain established production rates while meeting quality standards.

• Plan the sequence of operations to produce parts efficiently and cost-effectively.

• Identify and report equipment, process, quality, or safety concerns to your supervisor.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Follow all company safety, quality, and Lean manufacturing practices.

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1–3 years of experience operating fabrication equipment, machine tools, or working in a manufacturing environment preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.

• Experience setting up and operating fabrication equipment.

• Experience with CNC press brakes is preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical instructions.

• Understanding of basic measuring and inspection tools, including tape measures, scales, micrometers, and templates.

• Knowledge of the physical properties of metals and how they apply to fabrication and finishing processes.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical and arithmetic calculations accurately.

• Ability to plan and organize work efficiently.

• Ability to learn and operate additional equipment as needed.

• Ability to be trained and certified to operate a forklift.

• Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

• Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as production needs require.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment. Employees may be exposed to:

• Manufacturing equipment and machinery

• Forklift and crane traffic

• Noise and other typical shop conditions

• Hot and cold temperatures

• Heavy materials and equipment

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand for extended periods of time.

• Frequently bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, stretch, and climb.

• Frequently handle and operate grinders, finishing equipment, hand tools, and other equipment.

• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds individually.

• Maintain the ability to see details at close range for quality inspection and precision work.
