Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Hours/Shift: Fulltime, Four 9hr days; Rotating call - evening & weekend hours

The Cath Lab RN serve as procedural RN in Cardiac Cath Lab setting, working in all roles in the cardiac cath lab. Serve as a procedural nurse in Noninvasive Cardiac Procedures. Providing pre-op and post-op care of the Cardiac Cath, Interventional Radiology, and Non-Invasive Cardiac patient. Proficient in the care of a moderate sedation patient. Providing Heart Failure education to patients. Crosstrain to and perform placement of PICCs, Midlines, and ultrasound guided IVs.

The Cath Lab is a small close-nit family-oriented group. Teamwork is essential in our department to achieve goals each day. Our team exhibits a high level of autonomy as well as attention to detail. We are a blend of different work backgrounds and different job types, so everyone brings something to the table.

Education

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)

  • Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)

  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.

  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • RN with at least 2 years of experience in acute care. Experience in the above procedures is not required; adaptability and willingness to cross train is necessary and training will be provided.
