Overview:

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring aRegistered Nurse for 3 South- Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a Full Time, position in Williamsburg, VA.

Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates!

Hours: 645PM to 715AM with rotating weekend schedule.

The Acute Cardiac/Stroke & IMCU Unit, 3 South, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. 3 South also cares for pre/post catheterization, and acute stroke. This 24-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:6 with assistance of Patient Care Techs with a ratio of 1:8 on average. The unit cares for patients with acuity higher than a typical medical-surgical unit.  3 South Acute Cardiac is also preparing for a transition to a Cardiac PCU step-down with ratio of 1:4 before year's end, making it an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, high-acuity setting. Registered Nurse Transition to Practice Programs at Sentara:

Unique 6-Month Program Includes:

  • No separate application required, automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area.

  • General Nursing Orientation

  • Specialty Clinical Track Residency

  • Professional Development Sessions

  • Mentoring and Unit-based Preceptor

Education

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program

  • BSN or MSN preferred.

Certification/Licensure

  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License

  • BLS within 90 days of hire.

  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire

  • NIH within 1 year of hire

Experience

  • Acute care nursing experience preferred

  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

  • New Grad RNs considered
