Our platform consists of distributed Java services running across infrastructure and AWS that power search, retrieval, and AI-driven experiences. To support the next generation of AI-powered and agentic search, we are componentizing our search pipeline into independently deployable services with well-defined interfaces. This architecture enables greater flexibility, reuse, and experimentation while allowing teams to innovate and deploy independently.

Responsibilities
● Work alongside our senior engineers to design and build the next generation of our search platform architecture.
● Design scalable, maintainable services with clear ownership boundaries and well-defined APIs.
● Improve deployment, release, and operational processes to enable teams to develop and ship independently.
● Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to plan and execute incremental platform migrations with minimal disruption.
● Take ownership of technical solutions from design and implementation through production deployment and support.

Qualifications
● 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing backend systems using Java
● A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
● Experience architecting scalable, distributed systems using industry best practices.
● Experience collaborating across multiple engineering teams to deliver complex technical initiatives.
● Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
