Senior Network Security Engineer

Role Description

The Senior Network Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Baghdad. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network architectures that support BeePay’s payment platforms and internal systems. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and managing firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs; monitoring network performance and security events; and troubleshooting network and security incidents to ensure high availability and integrity. The role involves conducting regular vulnerability assessments, implementing security policies and controls, and collaborating with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to meet regulatory and industry security standards. The Senior Network Security Engineer will also document network and security configurations, mentor team members, and contribute to continuous improvement of BeePay’s security posture.

Qualifications

• Strong network engineering skills, including Network Engineering and Network Administration, with experience designing and supporting complex, high-availability environments.

• 3+ years of deep expertise in Network Security and Cybersecurity, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure network design for payment or financial systems.

• Solid foundation in Information Security, including security frameworks, risk assessment, incident response, and policy implementation.

• Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), VLANs, load balancers, and network monitoring tools.

• Experience securing cloud or hybrid environments and integrating security controls across on-premise and cloud infrastructure.

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent practical experience are highly beneficial.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
