Job Description
To lead Reuters Analytics capability so business teams can turn trusted data into clearer priorities, stronger products, measurable customer and commercial insight, and better strategic decisions across Reuters.
Key Responsibilities
Senior management role leading Reuters Analytics capability and a high-performing analytics team.
Works across Reuters business areas, including Product, Technology, Editorial, Commercial, Finance, Strategy & Operations stakeholders.
Owns analytics strategy, delivery standards, stakeholder engagement, insight adoption, and measurable business impact from analytics initiatives.
Influences through team leadership, cross-functional partnership, structured prioritisation, clear communication, and transparent delivery management.
Key Accountabilities
Lead & Develop a High-Performing Analytics Team
Lead, mentor, and develop an expert analytics team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive adoption of insights, advanced analytics, and data science to enhance decision‑making across business units.
Attract, retain, and grow top analytics talent aligned to Reuters’ evolving needs.
Define & Deliver the Analytics Strategy
Set and execute a comprehensive analytics strategy aligned with Reuters’ broader data strategy and business objectives.
Own analytics demand management, prioritisation and portfolio governance to ensure capacity is aligned to Reuters priorities
Contribute to cross‑functional data forums to align priorities and ensure analytics initiatives deliver meaningful value.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance analytics capabilities and also promote responsible use of AI across teams.
Collaborate Across Business
Collaborate with product, technology, editorial, commercial, and other business teams to understand needs and deliver actionable insights.
Serve as a bridge between data engineering and business stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and used effectively.
Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly and persuasively to senior non‑technical audiences.
Deliver High-Impact Analytics Initiatives
Lead data and analytics initiatives from inception to delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and measurable impact.
Conduct impact assessments and risk evaluations for major analytics projects.
Establish and track KPIs to assess success and stakeholder satisfaction.
Resolve technical and operational blockers to keep teams moving efficiently.
Provide clear expectations and timelines to align stakeholders.
Champion Data Governance & Operational Excellence
Support best‑practice standards for data governance, data quality, and data security.
Maintain a strong understanding of data infrastructure, limitations, and opportunities to guide strategic decision‑making.
Key Interfaces
Reuters business stakeholders across Product, Technology, Editorial, Commercial, Finance, Strategy & Operations.
Data & Analytics teams, including analytics, data engineering, data science, governance, platform, reporting and delivery teams.
Reuters leadership forums and operating cadences where analytics priorities, risks, trade-offs and delivery progress are reviewed.
Governance, privacy, legal, risk and responsible AI stakeholders where data use, access, quality, automation or measurement require appropriate oversight.
Measures of Success
Analytics strategy is clearly aligned to Reuters priorities and translated into a focused, deliverable roadmap.
Analytics initiatives are delivered with clear ownership, timelines, quality standards, adoption plans and measurable business impact.
Stakeholders demonstrate increased confidence in shared metrics, governed data assets, reusable reporting and actionable insight.
The analytics team is high-performing, engaged, well-prioritised and able to support Reuters’ evolving business needs.
Risks, dependencies, blockers and trade-offs are escalated early with clear options and recommended decisions.
Required Qualifications & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data, analytics, business, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in data and analytics, including at least three years in a senior manager role.
Proven ability to lead analytics teams, build capability, develop talent, and create a culture of insight-led decision-making.
Expertise in SQL, DBT, Snowflake, cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and analytics and visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI and Looker.
Experience with Customer Data Platforms, analytics strategy, KPI frameworks, reporting standards, data governance and modern data solutions.
Strong communication, stakeholder-management, prioritisation, problem-solving and delivery-tracking skills.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving Reuters environment where business priorities, dependencies, capacity and delivery timelines need to be actively managed and communicated.
Collaborative and relationship-led, with the ability to build trust across teams with different priorities and operating models.
Structured and outcome-focused, able to turn insight, analysis and discussion into clear action and measurable delivery.
Comfortable challenging constructively, clarifying trade-offs and helping stakeholders make prioritisation decisions.
Clear and concise communicator who can adapt messages for senior leaders, business stakeholders and technical teams.
Pragmatic and delivery-minded, with a strong focus on business value, stakeholder confidence and continuous improvement.
