Senior IT Solutions Architect โ€“ Security & Infrastructure
Location: Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada โ€“ 100% Onsite
Type: Full-time Contract (100% Onsite)
Contract Duration: 1 year + 2 optional one-year extensions
We're seeking an experiencedIT Solutions Architect with a strong background inenterprise architecture, information security frameworks, and secure infrastructure design. This is a100% onsite role based in Regina, focused on supporting the development, modernization, and security of critical IT systems within the Government.
The ideal candidate will havedirect experience architecting solutions within government or similar public-sector environments, hands-on expertise withDevSecOps practices, and a deep understanding offormal design methodologies andsecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead thedesign and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performance IT solutions within the GOS environment.
  • Participate in project design reviews to ensurecompliance with security and infrastructure standards.
  • Collaborate with internalSolution Architects and third-party vendors to identify and implement cloud security controls, endpoint protection, and secure integration practices.
  • Analyze existing IT environments, detect deficiencies, and propose optimized solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Conduct and evaluateThreat Risk Assessments (TRAs) to support IT-related business initiatives.
  • Ensure architectural solutions addressregulatory, legislative, and compliance obligations.
  • Stay abreast ofemerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.
  • Lead or advise oncritical infrastructure upgrades,legacy retirement, andsecure transitions to new platforms.
  • Provide expert input intosecurity governance, risk mitigation, and incident/problem resolution efforts.
  • Offersecurity advisory services for enterprise solutions, procurements, and ongoing operations.
  • Produce documentation and reports to support architecture decisions, security advisories, and technical recommendations.
  • Ensure properstewardship of data assets, maintaining balance between access, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams toresolve issues efficiently during incidents or architectural conflicts.
  • Contribute toeducation and awareness initiatives around information security within the organization.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience as a lead IT Architect or having led major subsystems, withsuccessful implementation of solutions.
  • Experience withformal IT design methodologies andstandard frameworks for information security controls.
  • Expertise in one or moreindustry standard security frameworks, such asISO 27001,NIST, orSABSA.
  • DevSecOps experience, including security automation and secure CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-grade systems.
  • Practical knowledge ofmultiple architecture methodologies with the ability to compare and apply them effectively.
  • Experience withcloud security,endpoint protection,network security, andsecure integrations.
  • Familiarity withGOS technical and business landscape, orcomparable public-sector entities (heavily weighted).
  • Demonstrated involvement as an architect through theentire solution lifecycle โ€“ from strategy to implementation and support.
  • Experience inincident and problem management, collaborating across teams to ensure resolution.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • TOGAF, SABSA, or other recognizedArchitecture certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree inComputer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Completion of at leastone formal course in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 fundamentals).
  • Prior experience working with or withinGovernment of Saskatchewan or similar public-sector IT environments.
