Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Required Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant software development experience, with a strong focus on backend development and Python.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of strong experience developing applications using Python 3.11+ and PHP 8.4.x.
• Extensive Python experience with the ability to understand complex existing codebases and lead development efforts.
• Extensive experience deconstructing monolithic architectures into container-based services to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Technical proficiency with OpenSSL and implementing secure communication protocols across distributed platforms.
• Exposure to metrics and monitoring tools such as Chronosphere, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Familiarity with logging solutions, including migration from Splunk to Splunk Cloud.
• Experience with OS and package management, including RHEL7 to EL8/9 upgrades and yinst to RPM migrations.
• Strong proficiency in writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests.

Useful Qualifications

• Previous experience with NetAuto services such as Sandy, Panoptes, or Libra.
• Experience mentoring IC3-level engineers to reduce single points of failure (SPOFs).
• Experience partnering with Principal Engineers (PEs) on large-scale cloud migrations.

Contractor Scope of Work

Scope and Solution Expectations

• Use extensive experience in Python and PHP to drive and lead development efforts.
• Lead application and platform modernization across NetAuto services and break monolithic applications into container-based services on GCP.
• Drive language and library upgrades, including Python 3.11+, PHP 8.4.x, and OpenSSL.
• Own technical design and code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Build and extend metrics capabilities as NetAuto transitions from Yamas to Chronosphere, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Partner on migration from Splunk to Splunk Cloud or alternative solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering teams on OS and package migrations, including RHEL7 to EL8/9 and yinst to RPM, as well as cloud migrations.
• Own feature delivery supporting DT.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineering teams, to define requirements and drive technical solutions.
• Drive adoption of software development best practices, including testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex distributed-system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Adapt to changing project demands and customer requirements.
