JOB DESCRIPTION
Out client is seeking a Senior Application Analyst (SAA) with Epic certification in Beacon and Willow and a strong clinical pharmacy background to support and expand our oncology research initiatives.

The ideal candidate will combine pharmacy and oncology expertise with strong Epic application build experience to support the end-to-end development, testing, validation, and maintenance of research medication and protocol builds. The SAA will work closely with oncology clinical teams, research stakeholders, pharmacists, and IT partners to translate study requirements into safe, accurate, and operationally appropriate Epic solutions.

This role will have a key focus on oncology research protocol and medication build, including coordination of build activities, management of research build timelines, and alignment with the client's established processes for validation, testing, documentation, and change control.

The SAA will also serve as a quality assurance resource for research builds completed by other analysts, reviewing build for clinical accuracy, consistency, functionality, and adherence to established standards.

Candidates with prior experience supporting oncology clinical trials, research protocols, investigational medications, or oncology pharmacy workflows are strongly preferred.

This is a 100% remote position. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively in a virtual environment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across clinical, research, pharmacy, and IT functions.

Key Responsibilities

Oncology Research Leadership

Serve as the primary application analyst supporting the Oncology Research initiative within Epic Beacon and Willow.
Coordinate and manage research-related build activities from initial requirements through validation, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
Attend recurring oncology research meetings, huddles, and project discussions and provide clear, accurate status updates.
Maintain and manage the oncology research build tracker, including project status, milestones, dependencies, outstanding issues, and action items.
Partner with clinical research, oncology, pharmacy, and IT stakeholders to understand study requirements and translate them into appropriate Epic solutions.
Identify potential workflow, build, or operational issues early and communicate risks and recommended solutions to stakeholders.
Epic Beacon Build

Design, build, test, and maintain research medications and oncology treatment protocols in Epic Beacon and Willow.
Translate clinical and research requirements into functional Epic application specifications and configuration.
Ensure research builds appropriately reflect study-specific requirements while remaining consistent with the client's workflows, standards, and system design.
Apply appropriate clinical and operational judgment when evaluating build requests and determining the optimal Epic solution.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Beacon and Willow functionality related to oncology research and medication workflows.
Support new implementations, enhancements, system modifications, and version upgrades as applicable to the research environment.
Work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining strong communication, accountability, and follow-through.
Quality Assurance, Validation, and Testing

Conduct thorough quality assurance reviews of Beacon and Willow research builds completed by other analysts.
Validate research protocol and medication builds for accuracy, consistency, clinical appropriateness, and adherence to established build standards.
Develop comprehensive test plans and test scenarios based on clinical, operational, and research requirements.
Execute and document testing for new functionality, research builds, system modifications, and upgrades.
Document testing results, identify defects or discrepancies, and coordinate appropriate resolution.
Participate in formal validation and change control processes in accordance with company standards.
Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained throughout the build and validation lifecycle.
Application Support and Issue Resolution

Participate in regular application team meetings, project meetings, status reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
Analyze and resolve complex application issues, including critical issues requiring independent investigation and resolution.
Interpret end-user requirements and determine appropriate solutions while identifying potential downstream impacts or workflow concerns.
Evaluate operational workflows and recommend system solutions that support safe, efficient, and sustainable processes.
Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support.
Escalate issues appropriately and collaborate with other application teams, vendors, clinical stakeholders, and technical resources when necessary.
Maintain accurate and current documentation for application build, testing, validation, workflows, and research protocols.
