Security Analyst (2-Month Contract)

We are seeking an experiencedSecurity Analyst to join one of our clients for a short-term onsite engagement in Perth. This is a hands-on role focused on strengthening security operations, identifying risks, and supporting the client's cybersecurity initiatives within a complex business environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a security professional who can quickly become productive, work independently, and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
About the Role
As the Security Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing, and responding to security events while helping improve the client's overall security posture. You will work closely with internal IT teams and external partners to identify vulnerabilities, investigate incidents, and recommend practical remediation actions.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and investigate security alerts and events.
Analyse threats, vulnerabilities, and security risks across the environment.
Support incident response and security investigations.
Review security controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist with vulnerability management and remediation activities.
Conduct security assessments and provide recommendations.
Document findings, risks, and remediation plans.
Work with stakeholders to improve security awareness and compliance requirements.
Support security-related projects and initiatives as required.
About You
You will be an experienced security professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to hit the ground running.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Security Analyst, Cyber Security Analyst, or similar role.
Experience working with Microsoft security technologies, including:
Microsoft Defender
Microsoft Sentinel
Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance
Understanding of security frameworks and best practices.
Experience investigating and responding to security incidents.
Knowledge of vulnerability management and risk assessment processes.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Desirable
Relevant certifications such as:
Security+
SC-200
SC-300
CISSP
CISM
Azure Security certifications
Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
Previous experience in managed services or consulting environments.
