Job Title: SAP Basis Administrator
Location: LATAM (Remote)
Position Summary
TheSAP Basis Administrator will support, configure, and optimize SAP environments within a large-scale enterprise IT landscape. This role focuses onadvanced SAP Basis and HANA DB administration across Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of SAP systems.
The consultant will collaborate closely with infrastructure, database, and application teams to maintain system stability, perform root-cause analysis, and implement technical improvements in alignment with enterprise standards and cloud transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities / Focus Areas
  • SAP Basis & HANA Administration
    • Administer, configure, and monitor SAP systems includingS/4HANA, Solution Manager, BW, and Fiori.
    • Perform daily system monitoring, verify integrity and availability of hardware, network, and SAP servers.
    • ManageHANA database performance, backups, restores, and patch applications.
    • Execute SAP system copies, client refreshes, and transport management processes.
  • System Operations & Maintenance
    • Verify completion of scheduled jobs (backups, patches, upgrades) and resolve failures.
    • Implement and monitor end-user and application security functions.
    • Conduct performance analysis and tuning of SAP systems and underlying Linux environments.
    • Maintain standard operations and system documentation.
  • Infrastructure & Linux Collaboration
    • Work closely with Linux and Cloud Infrastructure teams to ensure optimized SAP hosting environments.
    • Contribute to testing and validation of SAP systems running on Linux servers.
    • Troubleshoot cross-platform issues involving application servers, network connectivity, and storage.
  • Incident Management & Service Assurance
    • Analyze and resolve SAP and infrastructure-related incidents during standard business hours or on-call rotations.
    • Collaborate with application and engineering teams to apply fixes and optimize platform performance.
    • Ensure compliance with Software Testing Life-Cycle and ITSM processes.
  • Continuous Improvement & Modernization
    • Stay current on SAP and cloud technology trends, providing recommendations for future-state architecture.
    • Support initiatives inSAP platform modernization, automation, and hybrid cloud migration.
    • Participate in special projects, audits, and ad hoc reporting activities as required.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience inSAP Basis administration andHANA DB management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Advanced knowledge ofSAP Basis,HANA DB, andapplication server operations.
  • Hands-on experience administering SAP systems includingSAP S/4HANA, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP Fiori.
  • Experience administering SAP systems onLinux operating systems (RHEL, SUSE, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency insystem monitoring,patching,backup management, andperformance optimization.
  • Understanding ofapplication and end-user security within SAP and infrastructure layers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to collaborate across technical domains.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • SAP Basis or HANA DB certification (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration).
  • Experience withSAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) andSAP Cloud ALM (CALM) for monitoring and lifecycle management.
  • Linux Administration certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity withcloud infrastructure environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Knowledge ofautomation and scripting tools (Ansible, Python, or Shell).
  • Exposure toSAP Solution Manager advanced features,SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration, andSAP Landscape Management (LaMa).
  • Experience supportinglarge enterprise or managed service environments.
