Lunch Manager, Food and Nutrition Services Department:Food & Nutrition Services Location:High Tech High Chula VistaReports to: Supervisor, Food & Nutrition Services Supervisor’s Superior:Director, Food & Nutrition ServicesRegular/Temporary:Regular, 7 hours a daySalary: Classified Hourly Position, Hourly Framework Step 2: $25.59 -29.00. Salary is commensurate with experience.Application Open: 9/8/26Application Closing: 9/30/26 Job Summary: Under the direction of the Supervisor, Food & Nutrition Services, the Lunch Manager is responsible for serving as a School Lunch Assistant, while overseeing daily foodservice operations on their entire campus, including other serving sites. Primary areas of responsibility include: ensuring foodservice operations are in coordination with school schedules; training School Lunch Assistants at respective campus; ensuring compliance with Food & Nutrition Services policies and procedures in order to maintain good standing with the National School Lunch Program guidelines; ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitary policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class.  - Check in with school staff weekly to ensure lunch orders are consistent with school schedules andevents.-Ensure meal accommodations are recorded, ordered, and provided to the correctstudent.-Submit completed food and milk orders for the respective campus weekly.- Follow up with School Lunch Assistants to ensure orders are complete andaccurate.-Conduct a daily inventory check at all serving sites on respectivecampus.-Operate Point of Sale (POS) system, tracking meal counts throughout serviceConduct a monthly audit of meal counts for all serving sites at respective campus, ensuring they are completed andaccurate.-Assist in training School Lunch Assistants at respectivecampus.-Ensure all field trips at respective campus are accounted for and food orders, paperwork and point of service data arecompleted.-Monitoring food orders daily at all serving sites on respective campus to minimize foodwaste.-Manage cash and check deposits for School Lunch Program at respective campus and ensure all monies received are handled in a manner to prevent loss for entirecampus.-Assist in the monitoring and review of lunch program procedures in order to maintain compliance with the National School Lunch Program guidelines.-Complete daily transportation and production reports, and maintain records to report to the National School LunchProgram.-Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate for all campus servingsites.-Coordinate with Supervisor, Food & Nutrition Services, on staff coverage andsubstitutes.-Track and report food delivery times to Supervisor, Food & Nutrition Servicesdaily.-Follow safe and sanitary food handling procedures at alltimes.-Monitor and ensure compliance with food safetyprocedures.-Serve as first point of contact for healthinspectors.-Ensure that food service equipment is maintained to meet the needs of theoperation.-Ensure daily maintenance and cleanliness of serving area andequipment.-Ensure proper sanitation and disposal of foodproducts.-Supervise students to ensure that procedures for maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in the storage, preparation, and service of food arefollowed.-Maintain a positive, professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams andindependently.-Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Related Work Experience To qualify for this position, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would ensure being able to meet and fulfill jobrequirements. - High school diploma- A minimum of one year experience in a management position- A minimum of two years experience in a foodservice establishment- In depth knowledge of K-12 food service systems, staff training and supervision, USDA school meal program procedures and compliance Licenses, Registrations or Certifications - Valid California Driver’s License- Current ServSafe Manager Certification Technical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge of the procedures, policies, practices and methods of food serviceoperations.-Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsTechnical computer applications including Google Suite and POS software Physical Demands - Ability to smell, taste and feel, in order to determine quality of raw and prepared foodproducts.-Ability to stand, stoop, reach and bend; mobility of arms to reach; dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate large and smallobjects.-Ability to read smallprint.-Ability to stand for longperiods.-Ability to walk longdistances.-Ability to lift, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50pounds.-Ability to work with, and in the proximity of, equipment with moving mechanicalparts.-Ability to work in an indoor and outdoorenvironment.-Ability to work around loudnoises. Mental Demands While performing the duties of this class, the incumbent is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills as well as technological skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math/mathematical reasoning. Work Environment This role is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.  SALARY & BENEFITS This is an hourly position starting at $22.88/hour.
