What is needed for this job as our Program Instructor:

  • Minimum 16 years of age

  • Experience participating in or instructing the applicable program area

  • Ability to safely lead participants in age-appropriate instruction and activities

  • Ability to maintain focus and supervise participants throughout program sessions

  • Current certifications required for the assigned program, or ability to obtain before instructing, if applicable

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Program Instructor:

  • Deliver YMCA instructional programs in accordance with established curriculum and quality standards

  • Teach and evaluate participant skill progression while encouraging confidence and personal growth

  • Foster an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment

  • Reinforce the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through instruction

  • Monitor participant safety and behavior throughout all activities

  • Communicate participant progress and program updates with families as appropriate

  • Maintain attendance records and complete required program documentation

  • Ensure program spaces are clean, organized, and ready for the next activity

  • Participate in required staff meetings and trainings
