Hospice RN Residency Program

Title:Hospice RN Resident
Schedule: Varies depending on field or inpatient assignment. Typically Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm in the field, or three 12 hour shifts in the inpatient unit.
Residency Pay:$38.86 per hour, with a $1/hr raise at 6 months.
Post-Residency Pay: Upon completion of residency and placement in a full-time RN role, $88,067 per year or hourly equivalent.

JOB SUMMARY

This twelve-month residency program combines clinical and classroom experiences designed to support the transition from nursing school to professional practice.

Residents will participate in rotations throughout TRU's hospice divisions, gaining experience in both field-based hospice care and inpatient hospice care. Clinical experiences are guided by experienced preceptors and provide residents with exposure to a variety of patients, care settings, and hospice services.

Throughout the program, residents will have opportunities to develop their nursing knowledge, clinical skills, communication, critical thinking, and confidence while working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
• Have an interest in hospice and providing compassionate care to patients and families.
• Current Colorado RN license, or ability to obtain a Colorado RN license before starting the residency program.
• Less than 12 months of nursing experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to learning and professional development.
