Title: In-Home Caregiver/PCA
Location: In the community, seeing patients in their homes. Location will vary based on patient needs, which may change from time to time. You can reasonably expect anywhere from Berthoud to the greater Denver area
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8am–4:30pm
Pay: $18.31 to $22.59 per hour
Mileage: 76 cents per mile

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a compassionate and dependable PCA to join our team on a full-time schedule. The PCA provides personal care and support to assigned patients in their homes and works collaboratively with the patient, family, and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to support each patient’s individual goals and needs.

The PCA assists patients with activities of daily living and other personal care needs while promoting safety, dignity, independence, and respect. The PCA provides care in accordance with established care plans, agency policies and procedures, Colorado State Regulations, and the mission and philosophy of TRU Community Care.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of caregiving experience, required
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when handling sensitive information.
• Ability to safely use a gait belt and sit-to-stand equipment following orientation and training.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must successfully pass agency-required background checks and drug screening.
• Must comply with agency health screening and immunization requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Provides and documents personal care and other services necessary to meet patient needs.
  • Care may include: bathing, grooming, dressing, hygiene, toileting, positioning, feeding, and other activities of daily living as assigned.
• Assists patients with safe mobility and transfers, including use of gait belts and sit-to-stand equipment following appropriate training.
• Assists with making beds, organizing supplies, and other tasks that support the patient’s comfort and safety.
• Assists with transporting, lifting, and positioning patients while following necessary safety precautions.
• Takes and records vital signs and other information as directed and within the scope of the position.
• Supports patient safety and follows established emergency procedures.
• Completes documentation accurately and completely according to agency standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provides appropriate patient and family support and education related to personal care.
