The Role: Senior Project Engineer

In this role you will apply your advanced engineering project management skills in electrical, mechanical, chemical, and computer engineering principles to develop comprehensive instrumentation and control (I&C) system designs for multiple projects with multiple clients simultaneously. The design will include project domains, industrial control panel design, water & wastewater processes, analytical instruments, PLCs, RF technology, radios, networking, communications infrastructure, VFDs, Soft Starts, motor starters, and relevant UL and NEC codes. Experience with P&ID, Electrical, and ISA loop drawings is a must.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide support and assistance to Inframark’s project team members from kickoff through startup and closeout serving as the lead Engineer for the project.
- Lead design or submittal review meetings with the Engineer and Owner, as directed by the Project Manager. Develops a “Trusted Advisor” role with the Engineer and Owner.
- Interpret contract documents, be proficient in identifying equipment requirements within our scope, and develop a general understanding of the overall process in water and wastewater.

- Conducts project site visits to assess and document conditions for both sales support and project fulfillment.
- Make field instrumentation selections based on identified in our scope letter, build requirements as defined in the contract, standardized products currently in use at the facility, and control the project budget.
- Interprets the contract documents to determine installation requirements and appropriate mounting hardware, sunshields, surge protection, etc.
- Generate submittals for review, approval and respond to any questions.
- Develop panel hardware drawings for all provided panels identified in our scope.
- Interpret the contract documents to determine installation requirements
- Develops hardwired IO list using standard templates.
- Create panel design including a bill of materials with “major buyout” items and the I/O list.Coordinate and manages the drafting team's efforts to efficiently produce AutoCAD drawings.
- Work with Inframark’s OT team to design SCADA/PLC control systems networks based on networking best practices, and scope.
- Selects copper and fiber cabling and network hardware based on scope and budget.
- Creates detailed network diagrams showing all network hardware (servers, PLCs, workstations, switches, firewalls, radios, etc.) and all relevant communication paths and protocols (fiber, Ethernet, serial, radio, etc.).
- Collaborate with Inframark’s OT team and HMI technical leads in selecting SCADA and networking software.
- Incorporate third-party equipment and systems into network diagrams.
- Select camera and security system hardware (e.g. card readers, door controllers, fence monitors) and software based on scope and budget.
- Create loop drawings in accordance with the contract documents.
- Coordinates and manages the drafting team's efforts to produce AutoCAD drawings efficiently.
- Create P&ID drawings in accordance with the contract documents.
- Develop a hardwired I/O list based on contract P&IDs, utilizing established I/O templates.
- Offer assistance and solutions if substitutions or alternatives are needed due to unavailability, lead times, or cost.
- Support factory acceptance and site acceptance test preparation, setup, and execution.
- Lead the creation of documentation for Panel Drawings, Loop Drawings, and Network Diagrams.
- Perform final quality control check of the documentation and prepares submittals for transmittal.
- Prepare Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals
- Build relationships with vendors to obtain and review quotes for hardware selection, ensuring equipment accuracy and protecting the project budget.
- Provide technical support to the Sales and Marketing teams, assisting with technical consultation, sales quotations, and quotation review as needed.
What You Need:
- Expertise with field instrumentation hardware, control panel design, and networking design.
- Mastery technical writing and AutoCAD
- Complete and total attention to detail cascading all the information to keep everyone in the know.
- The ability to raise up issues in a timely matter and provide solutions.
- Be curious, ask questions, have the desire to learn and get feedback.
- Have generous communication skills with the team, leadership, customers and vendors.
- Be able to work inInframarks’ offices with occasional or periodic visits to the job site.
- Travel is estimated at 20%. Periodic visits to a project site to gather information, conduct meetings, or meet with customers will occur.
