The Assistant Director of Sales supports the Director of Sales in leading the hotel’s day-to-day sales operations across all market segments. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, developing profitable business opportunities, managing key MICE accounts, and ensuring the Sales team consistently achieves its financial and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of the Sales team across all assigned market segments.
- Support the Director of Sales in implementing departmental standards, strategies, and quality guidelines established by Rixos Regional Sales.
- Assume responsibility for the Sales Department in the absence of the Director of Sales.
- Lead the department’s financial, administrative, and operational activities under the guidance of the Director of Sales.
- Assist in preparing sales reports, annual business plans, revenue forecasts, and departmental expense budgets.
- Manage and develop top-producing accounts within the MICE segment, ensuring agreed revenue targets are achieved.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while developing existing accounts into profitable, long-term partnerships.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate sales strategies designed to achieve and exceed forecasted Rooms and Food & Beverage revenue.
- Conduct regular sales calls, account reviews, market analysis, and competitor assessments to identify new opportunities.
- Personally welcome and manage hotel site inspections in the absence of the Director of Sales.
- Train, coach, motivate, and develop Sales team members to improve performance and support career growth.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, business partners, hotel departments, and regional sales teams.
- Ensure all sales activities and documentation comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant operational standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the hotel’s emergency procedures and remain prepared to respond appropriately when required.
- Participate in task-force assignments and provide Sales support for new hotel openings when requested.
- Perform any other reasonable duties or responsibilities assigned by the Director of Sales or Department Head.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Sales leadership role, preferably within the hospitality industry
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sales, or a related field is preferred
Strong experience in managing key accounts, developing new business opportunities, and driving Rooms and Food & Beverage revenue
 Russian language proficiency is preferred
- Strong understanding of hotel sales operations, MICE business, account management, revenue generation, budgeting, forecasting, and market analysis.
- Proven ability to develop sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and achieve Rooms and Food & Beverage revenue targets.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, motivate, and develop the Sales team.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, corporate clients, event organizers, travel partners, and other business stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Flexible to attend client meetings, networking events, site inspections, and business-related activities outside regular working hours when required.
