Who we are
You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Doane Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ about 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.
As an Administrative Assistant (Receptionist), your responsibilities will include:
• Creating a welcoming and professional first impression by greeting visitors, managing reception operations, and answering incoming calls.
• Supporting the preparation, formatting, proofreading, and finalization of client deliverables, including financial statements, letters, reports, and tax-related documentation.
• Managing electronic and paper-based client files, ensuring documents are accurately organized, maintained, and uploaded to firm systems.
• Providing administrative support to client service teams by coordinating documents, client requests, and day-to-day operational needs.
• Assisting with billing activities, time and expense reporting, and other administrative processes in accordance with firm standards.
• Coordinating internal meetings, events, and office initiatives, including logistics, communications, and collaboration with internal teams and committees.
• Delivering exceptional client service through professional written and verbal communication with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
• Supporting marketing and business development activities by maintaining contact databases and assisting with relationship management initiatives.
• Coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements, itineraries, and related logistics for individuals and groups.
• Contributing to the efficient operation of the office by performing general administrative duties and participating in ongoing training to stay current with firm technology and processes.
