Hotel Accountant

Located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Convention Centre is a large-scale resort with over 370 guest rooms, a vibrant lagoon, diverse dining experiences and a state-of-the-art Convention Centre hosting events for up to 1,400 guests.

Behind the scenes is a busy and varied Finance operation supporting every part of the resort. From guest stays and dining to conferences and major events, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to the financial workings of a dynamic hotel environment.

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Hotel Accountant to join our Finance team.

You’ll become an integral part of the hotel’s Finance function, gaining hands-on experience across the numbers behind a busy resort while working closely with teams across the property.

This is a varied role suited to an accountant who enjoys being involved in the detail, building strong relationships and understanding how Finance supports the wider hotel operation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities across the hotel
• Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Complete bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare daily and monthly financial information
• Assist with month-end close and reporting requirements
• Monitor outstanding accounts and support credit control processes
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure accounting standards are met
• Work with operational teams to resolve queries and support sound financial practices
• Identify ways to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Accor policies and internal controls

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the hotel
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in developing your career
• Previous hotel or hospitality finance experience is advantageous
• Experience with Opera Cloud, Zambion, Purchase Plus, Micros Symphony or Sun Cloud is advantageous
