This role is part of a New Product Development team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers developing next generationmicro power tool devices with theorthopedic surgical space.
As an R&D Co-Op Student, you will perform a wide variety oftechnical work in planning and design of medical devices for Orthopedic Surgeonsto allow them to plan and perform their procedures. This role will support the R&D New Product Development Teams as they bring new medical devices products to market.

Tasks and Responsibilities may include:
Under supervision, assist in thedesign, develop, modification, and verification of mechanical and electrical components for medical devices.
Assist with prototyping and bench testing.
Supportproblem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
Under supervision, conductresearch and studiesto support product design
With supervision,work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.
Learnprocedures, policies, processes, systems, and technologyrequired.
Work on problems in limited scope; purposefully learn while gaining experience.
Demonstrate ownership and integrity of work.
Buildstable relationships.
Contribute to the project as a team member.
What you will need:
Currentlycompleting an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification inElectrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or similar.
Fundamental knowledge and understanding ofelectrical engineering practices andtools, design principles within a regulated environment.
Basic knowledge of schematic and PCB design
Basic knowledge ofanalysis tools andstatistical methods.
Ability to read and Interpretcomplex electrical layouts
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and analysis.
Familiarity with eCAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar tools used in coursework).
Exposure to bench-testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators) during labs or projects.
Excellent cross-function communication skills.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
