Job Description:
Behind every well-run facility is someone making sure the right supplies, equipment, and materials are where they need to be—and that’s where you come in. As a Supply Technician II at Beatrice State Developmental Center, you’ll play an important role in keeping daily operations moving by managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, ordering supplies, and leading warehouse operations. As a Supply Technician II, you will:
- Lead day-to-day warehouse operations, including ordering, receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Coordinate and prioritize supply requests and delivery schedules based on the operational needs of BSDC.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records to ensure supplies and equipment are available when needed.
- Review supply needs and initiate orders in accordance with established procurement processes and requirements.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, supplies, and equipment for accuracy, condition, and quantity.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas to ensure materials are accessible, secure, and stored appropriately.
- Coordinate the movement and delivery of supplies and equipment throughout the facility.
- Monitor inventory activity and identify changing supply needs, potential shortages, and excess inventory.
- Resolve delivery, ordering, storage, and inventory issues by evaluating available options and determining appropriate solutions.
- Communicate with staff, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding supply requests, orders, deliveries, and inventory needs.
- Maintain documentation and records related to purchasing, receiving, inventory, and distribution activities.
- Adjust priorities and delivery schedules in response to changing customer demands, inventory levels, storage capacity, and delivery concerns.
- Provide guidance and direction related to warehouse processes and ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Starting Wage: $15.343; this position receives an additional $3/hour for every hour worked
Hours: 7:30am-4pm (with flexibility)

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:One year of experience in inventory, warehouse, material supply or other closely related field.
Â
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, material/supply logistics, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of experience with purchasing, procurement, ordering, receiving, distribution, and/or maintaining inventory records.
- 3+ years of experience coordinating warehouse activities, prioritizing competing requests, managing delivery schedules, or leading/assigning the work of others.

Other:
- This position requires a valid driver’s license.
- The position requires fork lift operator certification within the first six months of employment.
- Incumbents are required to have the ability to lift, bend, push and/or pull 50 pounds.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
Knowledge of: the principles and practices of customer service; basic arithmetic; warehouse and storage operations including shipping and receiving; stock control and inventory systems, methods, and procedures; general bookkeeping procedures.

Skill in: assisting and working with customers; instructing, training, and overseeing the work of others; the operation of materials handling equipment.
Â
Ability to: communicate effectively; understand and follow instructions; learn, apply, and enforce agency and/or facility regulations pertaining to inventory and warehouse operations; estimate stock needs and re-order materials, supplies and equipment; prepare reports; lead and/or oversee the work of others; maintain accurate records; bend, twist, push, pull, and lift boxes and other objects and reach with body, arms, and legs.
