Versant is seeking a Technical Lead to lead the design, development, deployment, and ongoing support of key components of Versant’s Time and Workforce Management ecosystem. This role plays a critical hands-on lead DevOps position in delivering reliable, scalable solutions that support Versant’s workforce with delivering custom, SAAS, and PAAS based solutions. Â

You will build and lead high-performing teams of engineers and solution leads responsible for platform architecture, delivery, integrations, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with stakeholders across Time, Payroll, HR, Broadcast and Sports Operations, Product, Data & Analytics, and Enterprise Technology to ensure Time and Workforce Management solutions are well-architected, secure, and aligned to business priorities.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Platform Strategy & ArchitectureÂ
Contribute to the definition and execution of Time & Workforce Management platform standards, patterns, and roadmaps across HR, Payroll, Time, & Broadcast & Sports OperationsÂ
Design and implement scalable, secure custom and SAAS solutions that meet defined business and technical requirementsÂ
Ensure solutions align with architecture standards and integrate cleanly with upstream and downstream systemsÂ
Evaluate and implement new technology capabilities (automation, AI features, data unification, packaged SAAS solutions) in support of product and business needsÂ
Collaborate with architecture, product, and data teams to ensure consistency and reusability across platformsÂ
Delivery & Operations ExcellenceÂ
Lead end-to-end delivery for custom time and workforce mgmt. initiatives, from technical design through build, test, deployment, and post-go-live supportÂ
Oversee technical delivery, release planning, CI/CD pipelines, and environment management to ensure stability and predictable releasesÂ
Enforce best practices in DevOps, code quality, documentation, and automated testingÂ
Partner with integration, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable interoperability and data flowsÂ
Monitor platform performance and operational health, driving root-cause resolution and continuous improvementÂ
Partner & Team LeadershipÂ
Build and lead a blended organization of internal engineers, architects, and contracted delivery partners both on and offshoreÂ
Serve as an accountable leader for contracted and managed service partners, ensuring delivery quality, cost effectiveness, and strategic alignmentÂ
Define clear scopes of work, service-level expectations, and governance processes with delivery partnersÂ
Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and learning - balancing partner execution with internal engineering capabilityÂ
Mentor and develop team members, driving engagement, accountability, and professional developmentÂ
Assist with managing budgets and resource plans, ensuring optimal allocation across initiativesÂ
Governance, Security & Stakeholder AlignmentÂ
Ensure Time and Workforce solutions comply with corporate security, privacy, and regulatory requirementsÂ
Adhere to established governance processes including change management, version control, and documentationÂ
Partner with Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to support secure handling of customer and business dataÂ
Provide regular status updates on delivery progress, risks, and operational health to technology and business stakeholdersÂ
Act as a trusted technical advisor for Time and Workforce Management engineering within cross-functional forumsÂ
QualificationsÂ
Basic RequirementsÂ
6+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years leading medium to large full-stack engineering delivery teams(both on and offshore)Â
Strong hands-on experience with full-stack architecture and development practicesÂ
Proficiency in .NET, C#, SQL Server, modern JavaScript frameworks, APIs, JSON, integrations, data modeling, secure coding practices Â
Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Azure AD, JWT).Â
Proven experience delivering complex enterprise applications implementations with multiple integrations to multiple SAAS platforms.Â
Experience leading agile teams and working within CI/CD and DevOps delivery modelsÂ
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholdersÂ
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skillsÂ
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fieldÂ
Desired CharacteristicsÂ
Experience in media, entertainment, or consumer-facing digital businessesÂ
Experience delivering time and workforce management solutionsÂ
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, Salesforce, AWS, GCP)Â
Experience with React & Node.JSÂ
Experience with Marketing Cloud Engagement or Data Cloud/CDP implementationsÂ
Interest in modernizing custom and SAAS platforms and improving developer productivityÂ
