Rockstar is recruiting for an edtech/govtech startup that is building the first common application system for PK-12, focused onincreasing access to high quality education. ThisNobel Prize-winning, venture-backed, seed-stage company works with cities, school districts, and nonprofits to set up one-stop-shop enrollment hubs for families to find, navigate, and register for educational and social programs. The team includes25 humans, founded by aNobel Laureate, a Clark Medalist, and a Social Entrepreneur.
Work with theGo to Market team to grow the business in thecharter sector. The role will be responsible forgenerating demand and building pipeline, including through direct outreach, field events, and marketing support, as wellowning deals and working them through close.
Although similar to asales / Account Executive role, since this is a startup, the company needs someone who will beextraordinarily proactive anddo whatever it takes to grow the business.
For this role, the company isn't looking for traditional sales people - they wantpractitioners who have lived the experiences of their clients and empathize with their work and challenges. The best candidates would beformer CMO leaders or administrators in student services, operations, accountability, or enrollment. Sales, partnerships, development/fundraising, or other business experience is helpful, but the company is open to eager candidates with acompetitive drive who want to learn the ropes. Candidates must livewithin 1 hour of hubs in San Francisco or Boston.

Responsibilities
The candidate will be afull stack sales executive, responsible for all stages of the sales process:
Understanding the company
- Understanding the company'sgo to market strategy and ideal customer profile (ICP)
- Learning theproduct inside and out
- Masteringpricing and packaging
Building pipeline
- Build target lists matching ICP using tools likeLinkedIn, RocketReach, Clay, and district websites
- Sendoutbound emails
- Cold calls
- Supportingmarketing with outbound campaigns
- Workingcharter conferences
- Miningreferral networks
Working the deal
- Scheduling meetings
- Attending all meetings
- Demo the product (and leveraging specialists for high priority demos)
- Leveragingprofessional and technical services specialists
- Buildingrelationships with stakeholders and influencers
- Understandingdecision-making process and politics
- Following up, checking in
- Submittingproposals and quotes
Closing the deal
- Pricing and negotiation
- Contracting
- Navigatingprocurement
- Entering the information correctly intoHubspot
- Confirming contract information is correctly synced withTABS
- MonitoringTABS to ensure invoices are paid
Handing off the customer
- Coordinating internally toidentify the CSM
- Introducing the client to theCSM and implementation team
- Joining thefirst kick-off call to ensure smooth handoff to implementation team
Compensation
- OTE:$150,000 - $200,000+
- Base Salary:$70,000 - $90,000
- Bonus:$70,000 - $120,000+
- Equity:~5,000 Shares
Qualifications
- Based inSan Francisco Bay Area or Greater Boston
- 4+ years of full time professional experience
- 2+ years incharter administration role, preferably at alarge CMO/network in operational roles includingCEO/Executive Director, Enrollment, Student Services, Accountability, or Operations
- Passion for education, equity, or social impact
- Entrepreneurial spirit and drive, extraordinarycomfort with ambiguity
- Excellent communicator, including written and oral
- Among thebest at what you do with agrowth mindset and desire to constantly improve
- Legal ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship
