PRIMARY PURPOSE  

 

TheBookstore Attendantshall serveThe Navigatorsand fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose:  To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.   

 

This positionis responsible forproviding customer service, making food and beverages within the café, and supporting the mission of Glen Eyrie and The Navigators.  

 

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS 

 

Bookstore Responsibilities[95% of time] 

  • Interact with bookstore customers andassist them with questions,purchases and conduct point-of-saletransaction. 

  • Manage customer food and beverage orders andpreparefood andbeverages to fulfill customer orders.  

  • Receive, input, price, andshelve new inventory.   

  • AssistBookstore Manager withproductpurchasing & staff trainingas needed. 

  • Knowledge of Bookstore and Glen Eyrie goals, and how to contribute to them.   

 

Additional Responsibilities [5% of time] 

 

  • Participate in Navigators’ on-sitelearning and developmentevents, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events asappropriate. 

  • Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other releases asrequired. 

  • Submit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system. 

  • Must be able towork a flexible schedule, 3-4 shifts a week including days,nights and weekends. Regular shifts are between 5-8 hours. Must be available for weekends. 

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM AND PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS  

 

Spiritual:Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators. 

 

Experience:This role requires strong organization& time management skills with an emphasis on customer service.1 year of experienceas a Barista or Retail preferred.    

 

Technical Knowledge & Skills:Microsoft Office,Point of Sale software,computerskills and ability to learn new technology. Strong telephone, cash handling, and math skills and knowledge. 

 

Communication & Leadership:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal & written, tocreate understanding andbuildstrong working relationshipsrequired.  

Compensation: $15.60 hourly
