Responsibilities

  • Assuming responsibility for the shop’s smooth and effective operation; determine extended hours to meet Guest needs, accurate staffing levels; supervise team and perform sales duties.
  • Leading Retail team as well as training and orienting new hires and mentoring and developing teams (i.e. Guest service and recovery, product information, security procedures, etc.)
  • Leading all aspects of selling of ship/island merchandise in fixed and mobile retail locations; product focus could include but is not limited to DCL specialty merchandise, onboard art program, duty free products, jewelry, and princess, knight and/or pirate makeover experiences
  • Inspect shops on a regular basis to ensure that merchandise is accurately labeled, well-displayed, point-of-sale promotions are in place, and the shops are clean and orderly
  • Provide inventory management training
  • Balance shop sales, counting, receiving and pricing of merchandise on direct shipments and shipments from the Warehouse
  • Ensure exceptional guest experience and operation in onboard Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique & Pirate’s League
  • Ensure accurate documentation and notification to shore side operations to any variances
  • Document off loading or transferring of the merchandise from the ship for customs
  • Prepare financial and computerized reports at the end of each cruise summarizing sales revenues and provide highlights of merchandise sold
  • Supervise and assist in cleaning activities to USPH standards of shops by Retail Sales Associates
  • Oversee and alter visual standards of display windows and shops as necessary
  • Spot check cycle counts (mini physical inventory of skews)
  • Mentor and develop crew as it relates to performance and future goals and objectives

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum three years recent retail management experience
  • Minimum one year management experience, within the last three years
  • Ability to demonstrate a passion and strong, ongoing focus towards exceeding guest satisfaction and sales goals in order to exceed incentive targets which impacts the individual, team and overall department success
  • Enjoy working in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-service oriented environment
  • Appreciate diversity among guests and crew

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ship experience a plus
  • Experience and knowledge in fine jewelry, watches, perfume, cosmetics
  • Experience balancing and/or evaluating end of day sales and producing reports
  • Experience handling a large stock of product as well as the inventory of merchandise

This is a SHIPBOARD role.

  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
  • Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
  • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
  • Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
  • Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices
  • Be willing to share a cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment
  • Be comfortable living in a confined space with strict rules and regulations
  • Adhere to a structured lifestyle, personally and professionally

Your Responsibilities:

  • Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
  • Complete a pre-employment medical
  • Obtain a criminal background check
  • Bring approved work shoes
