As a Residential Advisor, you’ll play an important role in creating asafe, structured, supportive, and positive living environment for our students. You’ll serve as a mentor, role model, and source of encouragement while helping young adults develop the behaviors, confidence, independence, and life skills needed for success in Job Corps and beyond.

This is more than supervising a dormitory.It’s an opportunity to positively influence a young person’s future every day.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As part of our Residential Living team, you will:

• Mentor and guide students in developing positive attitudes, appropriate behaviors, independence, and personal responsibility.
• Create a positive residential environment that encouragesrespect, accountability, teamwork, and peer leadership.
• Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions, andindependent living skills development.
• Patrol and monitor dormitories and Center areas to help maintainstudent safety and appropriate behavior.
• Identify concerns, resolve problems, and arrange student visits with counselors when appropriate.
• Support student activities, includingunit government and leadership opportunities.
• Model appropriate behaviors and reinforceCareer Success Standards through mentoring and intervention.
• Maintain student files, case notes, daily operations reports, pass lists, and other required documentation.
• Assist students with maintaining aclean, safe, and welcoming residential environment.
• Recommend or requisition supplies necessary for dormitory operations and student safety.
• Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other Center customers.
• Support, promote, and enforce theJob Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

🎓 WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum ofone year of Job Corps or related program experience.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime when directed.

Preferred:

• Advanced education or degree.
• Valid in-state Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the ability to perform activities including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, stooping, crouching, carrying, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Candidates must be able tolift up to 40 pounds and/or appropriately assess a load and request assistance when necessary.
