The starting pay range for this position per hour is $25.00 - $27.00. The full pay range for this position per hour is $25.00 - $42.50

The Visual Merchandiser supportsa greatguest experience by ensuring that visualmoments are set andmaintained to the company guides and visual standardsto drive sales and inspire guests.Theyareexpertsinvisualpresentation, which includeselevated merchandising techniques,mannequin styling,mapping and fixture blocking, andIn Store Marketing (ISM) elements.

  • Retail business fundamentalsincluding department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns,pricing and promotions strategies  

  • Planningand communicatingdepartment(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals  

  • Training and developingteam members to improve theirvisualmerchandising acumen and skills 

  • Leading the strategy of visual merchandising andVisualStandards implementation 

 

As a Visual Merchandiser, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day willmost likely include the following responsibilities: 

  • Plan daily/weekly visual workload with leader guidance to include sales goals, events, and promotions. 

  • Execute weekly visualassessmentsandpartner with leaders to improve store visual execution and guest experience. 

  • Assess and guide the execution of visual standards across the total store to help elevate visual presentations. 

  • Support the execution of the company Visual Merchandising strategy, visualstandards and In-Store Marketing (ISM) across all pertinent areas of the store. 

  • Support andvalidate the execution of all visual presentations in the store in partnership with leaders. 

  • Set all overhead spotlights to highlight key merchandising presentations.  

  • Withleader guidance, solve merchandising issues and adjust sets to create andmaintain inspiring presentations.  

  • Leverage daily interactions and huddles to teach team visual standards, signing and affordability strategy, and how to create inspiring visual moments to support driving sales. 

  • Maintain organization ofbackroomspace and keep up to date with current signing tools and signing fixtures. Set all non-planogram ISM elements throughout the store. 

  • Communicate and support team onboarding, continuous learning and help close knowledge and skill gaps through training, influencing andhands on experiences.   

  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverseperspectivesand approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creatingequitable experiences. 

  • Alwaysdemonstrateethical conduct,safety and compliance. 

  • Work in a safe manner at all times;comply with all safety policies,best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible. 

  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.   

  • When guests needassistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs. 

  • Thankguests and let them knowwe’re happy they chose to shop at Target.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything youneed to know to be a Visual Merchandiser.But,there are a few skills you should have from the get-go: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • At least1 to2 years of visual merchandising experience 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older 

  • Business acumen (i.e. knowledge of margin, profitability, etc.) and creativity to inspire guests and drive sales 

  • Strong understanding of trend and style that is reflective of our brand 

  • Lead and influence store teams to follow processes that support visual merchandising 

  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices andoperate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed. 

  • Work independently and as part of a team 

  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently 

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members 

  • Effective communication skills  

  • Capability toremain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment andaccomplish multiple tasks within establishedtimeframes

  • Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues 

  • OperateWork Assist Vehicle (WAV) and pallet jack 

  • Interpret instructions, reports and information 

  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed  

  • Climb up and down laddersas needed 

  • Scan,handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, includingfrequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise and fixtures up to 44 pounds withoutadditional assistance from others 

  • Flexible work schedule.(e.g., nights,weekends and holidays); reliable and promptattendance necessary 

  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
