Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivatedTest and Commissioning Manager – ETCS L2who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based inBrisbane, Australia.

Key accountabilities:

We are currently seeking a T & C Manager to lead the testing and commissioning activities of a multi-disciplined digital railway system project and manage a pool of wayside T&C engineers of all levels.

  • Supporting the program T&C managers by leading Wayside T&C activities for multiple work packages;

  • Provide program-wide leadership, coordination and resource management of all Wayside Testers, Testers in Charge (TICs) and Commissioning Engineers across multiple ETCS Level 2 work packages, ensuring consistent application of testing methodologies, safety standards, competencies, planning processes and commissioning practices across the program;

  • Managing work package signalling Tester’s in Charge and commissioning engineers and supporting plan development and execution of wayside T&C works;

  • Ensure that the test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project;

  • Oversight of the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all Test documentation;

  • Technical review of all test documentation to ensure test coverage is robust and comprehensive;

  • Ensuring the timely production of Test Plans, Procedures and Reports at the work package level;

  • Supporting site interface management with the Client/Engineers/Third parties during the test and commissioning planning and execution phase;

  • Support bids and develop strategy for future work packages;

  • Ensure test documentation complies with relevant standards;

  • Ensure test specifications and procedures align with project requirements

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing large teams of railway signalling Testers, Testers in Charge (TICs) and Commissioning Engineers across complex, multi-package railway infrastructure programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field;

  • RPEQ preferable

  • 10+ years' experience in a similar role in the Rail Signal industry with demonstrated capability and skills in:

    • System Integration of complex systems

    • Understanding how testing plays a role in supporting Systems Assurance activities

    • Railway equipment and environment

    • Use of Test tools

    • Use of Database tools

    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite

    • Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools

  • A willingness to travel as required by the project.
