Tessera isseeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Technical Buyer to support procurement operations at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. This roleis responsible for sourcing andpurchasing specialized technical materials, equipment, and services to meet project and operational requirements. The Technical Buyer will manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing and terms,and ensuretimely delivery of high-quality products thatcomply with specifications, budget, and organizational standards.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Source, evaluate, andprocure technical goods, components, and servicesin accordance with specifications, cost targets, and lead times.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, andbills of materials (BOMs) todetermine procurement requirements.
Solicit quotations, analyze bids, and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions with suppliers.
Identify and develop relationships with qualified vendors and manufacturers.
Manage the purchase order (PO) lifecycle from creation to delivery, including tracking,expediting, and resolving any supply chain issues.
Maintainaccurate procurement records, including cost data, supplier performance, and compliance documentation.
Ensure all procurement activitiescomply with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Contribute to inventory planning and forecasting efforts, ensuringoptimal stock levels of critical components.
Assist with cost reduction initiatives and sourcing strategies to improve efficiency and reducespending.
Liaise with internal teams to confirm receipt and quality of delivered items.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED isrequired.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain/engineering or closely related field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Technical Buying;Equivalent combination of experience and education allowed.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to50pounds.
May berequired to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also berequired.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license isrequired with the ability to obtain andmaintain coverage byTessera’s insurance.
