Staff Engineer, System Applications

Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking aSystem Applications Engineer to join our customer‑facing solutions team. This team supports a broad range of industry‑leading, high‑performance linear solutions and standard products across end applications such asindustrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare, and communication systems, with a strong focus onaerospace and defence systems andADEF platforms.

The System Applications Engineer is responsible for developingsystem‑level applications, includingembedded software, FPGA IP, and application software built on top of ADI’s high‑performanceRF communication systems and ADEF platforms. Working as part of across‑functional team, the engineer leads the definition, development, implementation, and documentation of system solutions; interfaces with field teams and customers to gather requirements and deliver technical training; and provides technical support for ADI’s global customer base.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintainsoftware projects for embedded systems, including processor‑, FPGA‑, and microcontroller‑based platforms
• Develop and integrateFPGA IP and embedded software for system‑level and application‑specific solutions
• Performsystem bring‑up, validation, and lab integration, including hardware–software co‑debug, RF testing, and performance characterisation onADEF platforms
• Interface directly with customers and field teams to gather system and application requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and support the definition of system architectures
• Collaborate closely withglobal engineering, marketing, and applications teams to deliver integrated system‑level applications
• Providecustomer support through official ADI support channels and contribute to customer enablement activities

Essential Skills and Competencies

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Computer Science (CS), with aminimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded software forRF communication systems
• Strong experience withembedded Linux software development
• Solid experience withFPGA‑based systems, including FPGA IP development and design targeting platforms such asAMD/Xilinx or Intel (Altera)
• Proficiency in software development languages includingC, C++, and shell scripting
• Experience withMATLAB® and Simulink® for model‑based design and code generation
• Experience withsource‑code management (Git, SVN), cross‑compilers, and in‑circuit debugging tools
• Excellentsoftware and system‑level design, problem‑solving, and analytical debugging skills
• Strong understanding ofelectronics, embedded systems, and RF communication protocols
• Ability to work effectivelyboth independently and within cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative system solutions
• Ability to understand and work withlarge and complex technical documentation
