Staff DBA - Netwrix DevOps Group

Position Overview 

We are building a cutting-edge Platform that will transform the way our customers identify, protect and govern their data. This will revolutionize how customers secure their data by placing identity at the core – providing unparalleled visibility and control.  

We are seeking aStaff DBAwith a strong background indata engineering and backend architecture to help define and standardize how data is stored and modeled across our unified security platform.

This role focuses ondata schema design, consistency, and interoperability — ensuring that data collected from multiple enterprise systems (such as Active Directory, SharePoint, Entra ID, and file servers) is represented in a clear, unified, and scalable structure. You will work closely with backend and platform engineers to design thedata models, schemas, and standards that power analytics, reporting, and policy enforcement across the platform.

Key Responsibilities 

Schema Design & Data Modeling

• Design and maintainstandardized data schemas used across different data sources and storage systems.

• Definedata contracts and models to ensure consistent representation of entities such as users, groups, resources, and permissions.

• Develop and maintainschema evolution and versioning processes to support iterative product development.

• Ensure data models areoptimized for both transactional and analytical workloads.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align data models with business logic and reporting requirements.

Analytical & Application Storage

• Design and optimizeClickHouse schemas for analytical and time-series workloads.

• Iterate on and maintainPostgreSQL schemas for metadata, configuration, and application-level data.

• Developindexing, partitioning, and retention strategies that balance performance, scalability, and cost.

• Definetransformation specifications to ensure consistency between raw and analytical data layers.

Data Quality & Governance

• Establishnaming conventions, data types, and relationship standards for all stored data.

• Implementvalidation and normalization checks to ensure incoming data adheres to defined schemas.

• Partner with QA and product teams to verify that stored data accurately represents system behavior and business intent.

• Maintainclear documentation and metadata definitions for all datasets and structures.

Infrastructure & Automation

• Manage schema migrations and versioning throughCI/CD workflows.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and monitor databases inKubernetes-based environments.

• UseInfrastructure as Code tools (Helm, Terraform, or similar) for consistent database provisioning.

• Supportobservability and monitoring for data performance and reliability.

Qualifications 

Data & Database Expertise

• 5+ years of experience indata engineering, backend development, or database architecture.

• Hands-on experience withClickHouse or othercolumnar analytics databases (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).

• Strong proficiency inPostgreSQL andSQL query optimization.

• Solid understanding ofdatabase administration, indexing, and performance tuning.

Data Modeling & Standards

• Demonstrated experience designingdata models for complex or multi-system environments.

• Familiarity withdata contracts,schema evolution, andversioning best practices.

• Experience enforcingdata standards and conventions across teams or systems.

• Understanding ofmetadata and documentation management (e.g., dbt, OpenMetadata, or similar).

DevOps & Tooling

• Experience deploying and managing databases withKubernetes and containers.

• Knowledge ofCI/CD pipelines andInfrastructure as Code (Helm, Terraform, GitHub Actions, etc.).

• Understanding ofobservability and performance monitoring for data systems.
