About the Role

The Stuttgart office of Trimble Inc. is looking for a skilledSenior Geospatial Cloud Software Engineerwith a strong foundation incloud technologies to join our engineering team. 

The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain backend services that power our scalable, secure, and high-performance geospatial cloud-based applications. You’ll collaborate closely with global, cross-functional teams to deliver robust APIs, efficient data processing pipelines, and seamless integrations across platforms.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain geospatial backend services usingC# (.NET Core / .NET 6+)

  • Build and optimizecloud-native geospatial applications leveragingAzure / AWS / GCP services

  • ImplementRESTful OpenAPI spec APIs, data models, and asynchronous processing systems

  • WritePython scripts for automation, testing, data analysis, or integration tasks

  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of backend components

  • Integrate and manageSQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and data teams

  • Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and follow best coding practices

  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical design decisions

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable professional experience.

  • 6+ years of experience in backend development usingC# and .NET Core

  • Hands-on experience withcloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also considered)

  • Working knowledge ofPython for scripting, automation, or backend logic

  • Strong understanding ofAPI design, microservices, and distributed systems

  • Familiarity withCI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Production experience withPostgreSQL, MongoDB,SQL Serveror similar

  • Experience withversion control (Git) and agile development methodologies

  • Strong understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals.

  • Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code experience

  • Large scale cloud application experience, with demonstrable ability to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience withcontainerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience withserverless architectures (e.g., Azure Functions, AWS Lambda)

  • Knowledge ofevent-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus)

  • Exposure tomachine learning pipelines ordata engineering using Python and / or Scala / Spark

  • Familiarity withmonitoring and logging tools (Application Insights, ELK, Prometheus, etc.)

  • Experience with geospatial datatypes (coordinate systems raster, vector, point cloud, mesh)

  • Expertise in computer graphics or computer vision, in particular mesh or photogrammetry processing.
