What You’ll Do
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will take ownership of Quality Assurance within one of our dedicated implementation teams. You will work closely with Development, Product, and QA teams to ensure comprehensive quality coverage throughout the software delivery lifecycle. This is a hands-on role combining manual testing, automation, API testing, technical investigation, and release support. You will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to other QA Engineers while helping continuously improve our testing practices and product quality.
How You Will Succeed
- Own QA execution for your implementation team, ensuring comprehensive testing and high-quality product releases.
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve UI automation usingC#, Selenium, and xUnit.
- Perform API testing usingPostman and Newman, ensuring reliable integration and service-level coverage.
- Conduct manual, functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing across web applications, microservices, databases, and Azure/Microsoft Function Apps.
- Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and other Agile ceremonies to identify risks and improve testability early in the development lifecycle.
- Investigate complex defects and production issues usingSQL, application logs, browser developer tools, and other diagnostic techniques.
- Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, regression suites, and QA documentation inAzure DevOps.
- Support deployment and release activities, including pre-release regression and post-release validation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA Engineers within the team.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve QA processes, automation coverage, testing efficiency, and overall product quality.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in software testing/QA, with strong experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong hands-on experience intest automation, including designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Advanced or strong working knowledge ofC#, with experience writing automated tests.
- Hands-on experience withSelenium andxUnit or similar automation/testing frameworks.
- Experience withAPI testing, preferably using Postman and Newman.
- Strong working knowledge ofSQL/MSSQL for data validation and defect investigation.
- Experience withAzure DevOps, including Boards, test management, defect tracking, and QA documentation.
- Good understanding ofGit and version-control practices.
- Experience working withMicrosoft Azure or other cloud technologies.
- Understanding ofDOM structure, browser developer tools, and web application testing.
- Experience with scripting, preferablyPowerShell.
- Ability to read and debugapplication logs and investigate complex technical issues.
- Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
- Understanding ofblack-box and white-box testing techniques, web testing heuristics, and test case design.
- Understanding ofAgile methodologies and exposure toTDD/shift-left testing practices.
- Strong written and spokenEnglish communication skills.
- Ability to workUK business hours.
- Experience ine-commerce, SaaS, marketing technology, or high-volume data platforms is highly desirable.
- Degree, diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent professional experience inComputer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience withVisio, Lucidchart, or similar workflow/diagramming tools is an advantage.
