As aSenior Level Artist at Ubisoft Montreal, you will contribute to the creation ofimmersive environments that supportgameplay,mission content, andenvironmental storytelling within anopen-world project.

You’ll work closely withLevel Design andmission teams to create cohesive, engaging, and memorablegameplay spaces. This role focuses on assembling, organizing, and integrating existingassets into thegame engine to supportplayer experience and design intentions.

You’ll actively participate increative discussions and contribute ideas to enrichmission spaces and strengthen thegameplay experience. This position is not primarily focused on creatinghigh-resolution 3D assets or producing fullenvironment models from scratch.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate closely withLevel Design andmission teams to creategameplay spaces that supportgameplay andmission progression
  • Design and organizeenvironments that reinforceenvironmental storytelling andplayer experience
  • Assemble and integrate existingassets into thegame engine to create cohesive and immersive locations
  • Own specific locations or map areas while ensuringvisual andfunctional quality
  • Adjustcomposition,lighting, andvisual details to strengthen atmosphere andenvironmental readability
  • Positioninteractive and decorative elements to supportplayer navigation andmission objectives
  • Contribute actively tocreative discussions withmultidisciplinary teams
  • Balanceartistic intentions withtechnical constraints andgameplay needs
  • Test environments and propose improvements to optimizeplayer experience
  • Collaborate withproduction teams to ensureenvironmental consistency across thegame world

What you bring to the team

  • Solid experience working onAAA productions oropen-world projects, including at least two shipped AAA titles
  • Proficiency with3D software such asBlender,3ds Max, orMaya, as well aslevel-building orworld-building tools
  • Understanding oflevel design,gameplay, andenvironmental storytelling principles
  • Understanding of how environments supportmissions,progression, andplayer experience
  • Familiarity withgame engines andproduction pipelines related toenvironment integration
  • Experience with game engines such asSnowdrop is preferred, with openness to comparable experience usingUnreal Engine or similarworld-building andenvironment integration tools
  • Ability to collaborate effectively withmultidisciplinary teams and contribute tocreative discussions
  • Creativity,visual judgment, initiative, and a strong interest invideo games
