Main Responsibilities

     The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

SDS Authoring & Hazard Communication Execution

  • Author and update compliant Safety Data Sheets for assigned products and geographies in line with applicable hazard communication requirements, internal standards, and defined authoring workflows.
  • Apply classification, labelling, and SDS content requirements using approved data sources, templates, phrases, and system logic to ensure accurate and consistent outputs.
  • Perform detailed technical checks on SDS content, including classification consistency, section completeness, phrasing alignment, exposure / handling information where applicable, and supporting evidence.

Regulatory & Compliance Application

  • Apply relevant regulatory and compliance requirements into SDS authoring outputs, including GHS, CLP, transport classification concepts, and applicable regional hazard communication expectations across EMEA, APAC, and AMER.
  • Support regulatory change implementation by applying updated rules, templates, classifications, phrases, and process steps into SDS authoring activities through approved workflows.
  • Align with the Process Lead / Specialist for complex regulatory or compliance questions, ensuring decisions are documented and reflected consistently in SDS outputs.

Data Integrity, Documentation & System Discipline

  • Maintain high-quality SDS data and related records in SDS authoring systems and repositories, ensuring version control, traceability, and disciplined recordkeeping.
  • Follow defined work instructions, procedures, checklists, and evidence requirements to ensure audit-ready delivery.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, outdated, or unclear data inputs early and coordinate closure through defined follow-up and escalation routes.

Quality Checks, Non-Conformities & Corrective Actions

  • Execute self-checks, peer checks, and defined quality review steps to ensure first-time-right SDS delivery and minimize rework.
  • Support closure of non-conformities, quality findings, documentation gaps, or recurring errors by correcting outputs, capturing learnings, and supporting preventive actions.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement by identifying error trends and recommending practical improvements to checklists, templates, system steps, and work instructions.

Stakeholder Support & Service Delivery

  • Support internal stakeholders by responding to SDS-related queries, clarifying missing inputs, and coordinating with the Process Lead / Team Lead / Specialist for complex or high-priority topics.
  • Maintain disciplined follow-ups on pending information, dependencies, or open actions to support timely delivery and agreed turnaround expectations.
  • Document key clarifications, assumptions, technical decisions, and outcomes where required to ensure repeatability and consistency of future SDS authoring activities.

Service Governance Contributions

  • Contribute to assigned workstream efforts by maintaining accurate trackers, records, and inputs for performance visibility and service governance.
  • Proactively flag bottlenecks, recurring issues, documentation challenges, or process gaps to the Process Lead / Team Lead for timely resolution.
  • Support process improvement by adopting updated templates, layouts, system enhancements, quality controls, and best practices that improve SDS quality, consistency, and execution efficiency.
