Job Description Summary

The Refuel Floor Technical Director will provide direct supervision of Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) Refuel Floor maintenance activities, including Reactor Disassembly, Reassembly, and In Vessel Maintenance. This individual will support the safe execution of complex projects and activities involving BWR 2-6 Refuel Floor outage and off-outage scope.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providedirectsupervisionofunionandnon-unionpersonnelperformingactivities relatedto BWR Refuel Floor outage maintenancework.
  • Provideprojectdeliveryplanning leadershipand rigor.  Transitionplanning, risk identification, riskmitigation,and contingencyplanning.
  • Responsible for leadingand coaching multi-disciplinedand multi-culturalteams composedof GEHand contingentworkerpersonnel, includingcraft labor.
  • Support thedevelopment ofcommercialproposalsbyprovidingtechnical input on laborquantity, laborhours, tooling,and logistics.
  • Establishtrusting relationshipsand interacteffectivelywithsenior level customer andsuppliermanagement on commercial,execution,technical,and compliance issues.
  • Support Product Lineactivities includingproposaldevelopment,productdevelopment, growth initiatives,and trainingdevelopment & deliveryasbusinessneedsdictate.
  • Provide Subject MatterExpertise (SME)ontheoperationof reactormaintenanceand invesseltooling and GEH OEMequipment
  • ExemplifyourGE Beliefsanddemonstrate integrity,nuclearsafety,andquality culture.
  • Provide leadershipto ensurehighqualitydeliverablesareproduced inaccordance withcustomer requirements,businessprocedures,and regulatory guidelines
  • Drivestandard GVHprocessesacrossprojects and ensureprocedural compliance.
  • Performother assignmentsasbusinessneedsdictate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Sciencedegree inan engineeringdisciplineand 5yearsof experience in BWR Refuel Floor Outage Maintenanceactivities.
  • OR aHigh School Diplomawith a minimumof10yearsof experience in BWR Refuel Floor Outage Maintenance activities.
  • Previous experience as a Refuel Floor Technical Director or equivalent supporting Refuel Outage maintenance activities.

Desired Characteristics

  • Broader nuclear experience including plant operations and/or maintenance activities.
  • ExperiencewithPressurizedWater Reactor (PWR) outagemaintenanceactivities.
  • Experienceexecuting Spent Fuel Pool Cleanup and Dry Cask Storageprojects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine, Mechanical,Electrical,or IndustrialEngineering,
  • CommercialExperience /Proposal Development and CostEstimatin
  • Extensiveknowledgeofnuclearpowerplant refueling,maintenance, inspectionand modifications.
  • Knowledgeof BWR andPWRvesselsand components,Nuclear Steam Safety System (NSSS) and Containment Buildings
  • Excellent computerskills,and abilitytouse Microsoft Office Suitesoftware aswellas enterprisesystemssuchasP6,PLM (Product LifecycleManagement) andOracleERP(Enterprise ResourcePlanning)
  • Open communicationstyleandprovenabilitytodevelopteam relationships, includingvendorsand global teams
  • Strongoraland written communicationskills

Eligibility Requirements

  • Abilityand willingnesstotravel greater than 70%ofthetimetodomesticand international customersites.
  • Ability and willingness to support off-season projects including Spent Fuel Pool cleanup and Dry Cask storage campaigns.
  • Ability and willingness to instruct GEH Technical Training courses.
  • Abilityand willingnesstopass Fitness for Duty requirementsandsitesecurity requirementstoobtainand maintainunescortedaccessand USandInternationalNuclearPlant Sites.
  • Abilityand willingnessto work in radiation-controlledareasand radioactively contaminatedareas.
  • Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical.
  • Abilityand willingnessto work 12hours aday, 7daysperweekwhendelivering fieldprojects.
  • Abilityto manageeffectivelythroughhighstress conditions

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,400.00 and $152,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
