Job Description:

Job Summary:**

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Engineer (QE) to join our Global Technical Services (GTS) team, focusing on Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our SDN products and services.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for SDN controllers, network virtualization platforms, and related applications.
* Implement and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, Robot Framework, Selenium, Ansible).
* Perform functional, performance, scalability, security, and regression testing on SDN components and end-to-end solutions.
* Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
* Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to understand requirements, design specifications, and use cases for SDN offerings.
* Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and post-release support.
* Develop and maintain documentation related to test plans, test cases, and quality assurance processes.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging SDN technologies, industry standards, and best practices in quality assurance.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of QE processes, tools, and methodologies within the GTS organization.

Job Qualifications:**

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
* 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing, with a strong focus on networking technologies.
* Proven experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts, architectures (e.g., OpenFlow, SD-WAN, NFV), and protocols.
* Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) for test automation.
* Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security.
* Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, OpenStack).
* Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global team environment.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
* Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIE, or SDN-specific certifications) are a plus.
