Principal Engineer, Embedded Software Lead

Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking aPrincipal Embedded Software Engineer to join our customer‑facing solutions team. This team supports a broad range of industry‑leading, high‑performance linear solutions and standard products across end applications such asindustrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare, and communication systems, with a particular focus onaerospace and defence systems.

In this role, the Embedded Software Engineer is responsible forarchitecting software solutions andleading engineering teams that develop those solutions, interfacing ADI products with a variety of embedded processors, includingFPGAs. Working as part of across‑functional team, the engineer leads the definition, development, implementation, and documentation of software solutions, and interfaces withinternal teams, external partners, and customers to support system requirements, software validation, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintainmulti‑platform device drivers and software projects for embedded systems, including processor‑, FPGA‑, and microcontroller‑based platforms
• Collaborate closely withglobal engineering, marketing, and applications teams to develop new systems and reference solutions
• Providetechnical and people leadership for software engineering teams throughout project definition and development
• Delivercustomer support and contribute to technical training for field personnel and customers

Essential Skills and Competencies

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Computer Science (CS), with aminimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded software
• Experience leading software teams, with a proven track record of successful software project execution and delivery
• Strong experience with at least one of the followingLinux subsystems: IIO, V4L, ALSA, Ethernet
• Demonstrated proficiency in software development languages includingC, C++, and shell scripting
• Experience withsource‑code management (Git, SVN), cross‑compilers, and in‑circuit debugging tools
• Excellentsoftware architecture, problem‑solving, and analytical debugging skills
• Solid understanding ofelectronics and embedded systems
• Ability to work effectivelyboth independently and as part of a team to develop innovative solutions
• Proven record oftechnical leadership and delivery oflarge‑scale software projects
• Ability to understand and work withlarge and complex technical documentation
