Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue continued research experience and training within the Department ofNeuroscience; conducts independent research under the guidance of his/her scientific mentor to investigate themolecular and circuit mechanism of epilepsy in mouse models; independently designs new analytical approachesand tools; performs experiments; independently develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques andprotocols; collects and participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions; participatesin writing grant proposals; participates in writing of manuscripts and articles for publication and presentation; trainsstaff in techniques; collaborates and seeks expertise from other labs; attends and presents research at local,national, and international scientific conferences, workshops, and seminars; supervise Graduate andUndergraduate students in the laboratory.

Minimum Education and Experience:

PhD or equivalent degree required; Significant experience in molecular biology and animal models of epilepsy preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
