Oracle KVM Virtualization Engineer- Dubai, UAE

We are looking for a highly skilledL2 Oracle KVM Virtualization Engineer with strong hands-on experience inOracle Linux KVM and libvirt within enterprise production environments.

The role will be responsible for managingKVM hypervisors, virtual machines, HA configurations, live migration, storage and network integration, performance optimization, patching, backup/DR, and production incident management.

The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills and experience supportingmission-critical infrastructure in 24x7 production and DR environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintainOracle Linux KVM hypervisors.
• Manage the completeVM lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, migration, and decommissioning.
• Configure and supportHigh Availability (HA) andlive migration.
• Manage storage integration with KVM hosts, includingiSCSI, NFS, SAN, and FC.
• Configure and troubleshoot virtual networking, includingVLANs, bridges, and bonding.
• Monitor virtualization platform health, performance, capacity, and availability.
• PerformCPU, memory, and disk I/O performance tuning.
• Apply hypervisor patches, Linux kernel updates, and security hardening.
• Manage VM backup and restore activities in coordination with backup teams.
• SupportDR environments and VM replication strategies.
• Troubleshoot host failures, VM crashes, resource contention, and virtualization performance issues.
• PerformRoot Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh activities.
• Coordinate withLinux/OS, Storage, Network, Backup, and Cloud teams.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• FollowITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Provide L2 support within a24x7 managed services environment

• 8–12 years of experience in virtualization and Linux administration.
• Strong hands-on experience withOracle Linux KVM.
• Strong knowledge ofKVM and libvirt.
• Experience managingenterprise production virtualization environments.
• Hands-on experience withHA and live migration.
• Strong knowledge ofOracle Linux / RHEL.
• Experience supportingProduction and DR environments.
• Strong understanding of virtualization architecture and resource allocation.

• Hands-on experience with:

SAN

Fibre Channel (FC)

• Strong understanding of virtual networking:

VLAN

Linux Bridges

Bonding

• Experience with virtualization performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience withpatching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Basic scripting knowledge usingShell and/or Python.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and incident-management skills.
• Familiarity withITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
