Fenix Resources Ltd (ASX: FEX) is a fully integrated mining, logistics and port services business operating in Western Australia’s Mid-West. Remuneration: $159,650 + Superannuation + 10% Bonus

The Maintenance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance activities across our operations. Reporting to the Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors, this position provides planning, administration and coordination support to ensure maintenance work is organised, communicated and ready for execution.

Acting as the central link between Operations, Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Teams, contractors, and the Perth-based Planning Team, you will coordinate maintenance schedules, work scopes, materials, resources and operational interfaces. Your focus will be on ensuring maintenance activities are fully prepared before being handed over to the Mechanical and Electrical Teams for execution.

By managing the day-to-day coordination and administrative requirements of maintenance activities, you will enable the Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors to focus on technical leadership, workforce management, statutory compliance, reliability initiatives, continuous improvement and the safe execution of maintenance work.

This is a coordination and support role that facilitates the planning and execution of maintenance activities. Responsibility for technical decisions, engineering standards, maintenance methodologies and statutory obligations remains with the relevant Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors.
  • Act as the primary interface between Operations, the Mechanical and Electrical Teams and the Perth-based Planning Team.
  • Convert approved maintenance scopes into executable work plans.
  • Coordinate labour, contractors, equipment, materials and specialist services.
  • Coordinate procurement, receipting and staging of maintenance materials.
  • Ensure all resources, permits, plant access and supporting requirements are in place prior to work commencing.
  • Coordinate shutdown planning and maintenance scheduling with Operations.
  • Maintain maintenance work orders, planning information and reporting within MEX.
  • Monitor work readiness and communicate schedule changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate contractor mobilisation, inductions and operational interfaces.
  • Identify planning conflicts and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve planning, scheduling and maintenance efficiency.
  • Escalate technical, safety or scope issues to the Mechanical or Electrical Supervisor.

Key Role Accountabilities

Maintenance Coordinator is accountable for:

  • Providing planning and administrative support to the Supervisors.
  • Coordinating maintenance schedules and operational interfaces.
  • Coordinating procurement, materials and contractor requirements.
  • Supporting communication between Operations, Maintenance and the Perth Planning Team.
  • Maintaining maintenance data and reporting within MEX.
  • Ensuring maintenance work is fully prepared prior to execution.
  • Supporting efficient delivery of shutdowns and planned maintenance activities.

About You

You'll be a highly organised coordinator with the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving while building strong relationships across Operations, Maintenance and Planning teams. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and ensuring every detail is in place before work begins.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous experience coordinating maintenance in mining, ports, fixed plant or other heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably MEX.
  • A sound understanding of fixed plant maintenance and maintenance planning processes.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

What You'll Need 

Essential

  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification, with a minimum of 7 years' post-trade experience
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Experience in maintenance coordination, maintenance planning or fixed plant maintenance within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably MEX.

Desirable

  • Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Project coordination experience within a maintenance or operational environment.
  • Frontline Leadership qualification or similar leadership training.
