Job Overview

The HRIS Lead is a senior individual contributor who provides technical and functional leadership for Workday and related HR systems. This role partners across Human Resources, IT, and the business to design, implement, and evolve scalable HR technology solutions. Acting as a trusted advisor and Workday expert, the HRIS Lead owns complex initiatives on the HRIS roadmap, drives system strategy, and mentors other HRIS team members.

Job Description and Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead complex, cross‑functional HRIS initiatives, including implementation of new Workday functionality, modules, and major enhancements.  

  • Own and influence the HRIS roadmap by partnering with senior HR and business stakeholders to align system strategy with organizational priorities.  

  • Serve asaprimary Workday subject matter expert, providing guidance on configuration, optimization, and best practices across HR domains.  

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable system solutions, proactivelyidentifying risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts.  

  • Lead resolution ofhighly complex HRIS issues, including root cause analysis, system design decisions, and long‑term corrective solutions.  

  • Provide technical leadership for annual and enterprise‑wide HR programs (e.g., performance management, promotions, compliance reporting, payroll year‑end).  

  • Partner with IT and vendors to support integrations, upgrades, and security maintenance across the HR systems ecosystem.  

  • Establish andmaintain high‑quality system documentation, standards, and reporting frameworks to support scale and consistency.  

  • Mentor and guide HRIS analysts through knowledge sharing, design reviews, and best‑practice coaching, without direct people management responsibility.  

  • Buildexpertise inWorkday Extend and guide the evaluation, design, governance, and deployment of applications and solutions. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of hands‑on Workday experience, including advanced knowledge of two or more Workday modules.  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.  

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex HRIS or enterprise system initiatives. 

  • Strong understanding of HR processes, data governance, security concepts, and systems architecture.  

  • Experience with reporting, testing,security design, and process automation within HR technology platforms.  

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.  

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business and technical audiences. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Ability toquickly learn and adopt emerging Workday technologies, including Workday Extend and Workday AI capabilities. 

  • Experience with system implementations in a global or fast‑paced technology environment.  

  • Working knowledge of applying regional data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) within HR systems.

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

The expected salary range for this role is betweenfollowing values:

$111,000 and $167,000

The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
