IOTA GROUP is looking for an experiencedFPSO Technical Safety Engineer to join a major international offshore development project.
Assist Technical Safety Lead to coordinate the Safety Engineering scope and deliverables of the project during the detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
Reporting to the FPSO Technical Safety Lead, the job holder is responsible for providing guidance and technical support to the Engineering Contractor on all aspects of FPSO Safety Engineering.
Ensure that, for the safety discipline and during the detailed engineering phase, the SOR, Basic Engineering documents, Project Specifications and Procedures, as well as applicable international codes and standards, are properly implemented and complied with for the design and construction of the FPSO.
Perimeter: Topsides and Hul
• Detailed Design Review: Review, follow up, and supervise all safety-related engineering deliverables, including safety calculation notes, plot plans and layouts, safety logic and control philosophies, and related documentation. Ensure that all documents comply with project specifications, classification society rules, applicable international standards, and regulatory requirements. Ensure that the required scope of work is delivered within schedule and budget. Issue comments in due time, explain them to the Contractor, and follow up on their effective implementation.
• Safety Studies and Audits: Follow-up all necessary safety studies, reports and audits and, where applicable, ensure their recommendations are implemented.
• Technological Risk Assessment (TRA): Coordinate the development of the Technological Risk Assessment (TRA) performed by third-party consultants. Ensure that the TRA adequately evaluates risks to personnel, environment, and assets, and demonstrates that risks are reduced to a level that is ALARP and acceptable to the COMPANY.
• Technical Queries: Review, assess, and propose responses to technical queries related to the safety discipline.
• Design Safety Integration: Ensure that all safety and personnel protection measures are considered and integrated during the design phase of the project.
• Interfaces Between Disciplines: Interface with other engineering disciplines - mainly Process, Structures, HVAC, Hull, and SURF - and keep the Technical Safety Leader informed, in order to achieve the best technical trade-offs between safety, operability, and other project constraints.
• Discipline Meetings: Participate in discipline meetings with Contractor counterparts to follow up engineering progress, clarify and explain comments, provide technical guidance, and support issue resolution.
• Package / Project meetings and reviews: Participate in design reviews, interface meetings, HAZIDs / HAZOPs / technical reviews, constructability reviews, workshops… during the engineering, construction, integration and installation phases.
• Safety Reviews Coordination: Ensure that HAZID, HAZOP, etc., are planned and executed at the appropriate time, and that the methodology and procedures for these studies are produced and approved prior to their commencement. Monitor close-out of all safety-related action items from the various safety reviews.
- Minimum10 years of professional experience.
- At least8 years of experience in Safety / HSE Design within Oil & Gas projects.
- PreviousFPSO experience is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Safety Engineering studies, technical reviews and international Oil & Gas standards.
- Fluent English is required;French is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within aninternational and multicultural environment.
- Proactive, rigorous and able to anticipate technical and project challenges.

📍International mobility is essential for this position:
Between 1 and 2 years in Paris – France

➡️Up to 18 months in Geoje – South Korea
