Responsible for the safe andtimely transportation of freight from origin to destination. Load and unload shipments, either individually or withassistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment. Perform frequent lifting,pulling and carrying of freight. Inspects vehicle for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips andsubmit a written Vehicle Condition Report on the condition of the vehicle at the end of each trip. Check shipping papers todetermine the nature ofload to ensure hazardous materials are not present. Ensure all shipping documentation (e.g. manifest, security seal sheet, bills of lading, shipping orders, freight bills, etc.)required to move with shipments is available for inspection and thatappropriate paperworkaccompany shipment when delivered. Properly handle and complete all necessary paperwork related to vehicle operations and freight movements.
For this role, you must: be at least 21 years old; have a High School Diploma or GED; have theability to satisfactorily pass background check and alcohol and drug test;havea valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR);haveat least 6 months of driving experience, to include a personal motor vehicle;andbe willing to enterSoutheastern’s Driver Trainee Program after successfully completing one year in the Final Mile Driver role. We would prefer you to haveprevious experience including Pallet Jack, Load & unload, Box Truck, Delivery Driver, or CDL B. Pay: $31.35-$34.50 Per Hour (pay may vary based on location and experience)
